Things have been quiet around here recently, for which we apologize. Unfortunately, we are dealing with a very serious family illness, which coupled with the care requirements of a dear 90-year old relative, have prevented us from updating the site as we would like.
For the next several months, we will updating the site only once per week and we have dropped the subscription price accordingly. We thank you for your interest and support and we ask for understanding as we navigate the uncertain times ahead.

We have launched our very own print store! We have teamed with ZenFolio and MPix to offer these highest-quality, archival prints to you; MPix is well known for the superior quality of their work and Zen Folio provides a safe, secure and we hope pleasing on-line shopping experience.
Our prints are created on Kodak professional Endura photo stock with either standard or metallic inks with an optional protective finish, and may be ordered flat or with a variety of framing options. These are archival prints in sizes from 8×10 to 16×24 of selected feature images from our galleries. If your favorite X-muse photo is not among the prints we have selected, we will shortly have an option to request prints on the site (this feature will be available to active members only).
We invite you to investigate the new X-muse print store and give us any feedback on the ease of browsing and ordering, or the options provided.

We are opening up this post to give our members and visitors a chance to sound off on the merits of posting large images, or the lack thereof. Please feel free to post your cordial comments here.
As we who surf photo sites are all aware, digital camera advancements have created something of a fetish for posting very large images: one site is even posted 39-megapixel images now (the 7,000 pixel on the long side)! We think this a little silly, unless the viewer has a thing for image grain or skin pores.
We have followed suite to some degree by posting 4K-images (12 megapixels) which pretty much standard digital image size of the moment, when we feel the images support that. But but we do intend our images to be viewed as a whole, not as a windowed version that shows just a vignette of the whole image. So we post post both sizes to try to give people the best of oth worlds.
But we would like to know what you think of 4K-images: do you really enjoy seeing imags much larger than screen size, or would you rather have images that fit rationally on your screen?

So give us the benefit of your thoughts. Which option do you prefer: Full 4K-images or standard 1200-pixel images? The viewing pleasure you enhance will be your own!

We’ve added a new slideshow option to all X-muse photo galleries. When you open an image, look for the new control bar overlaying the image at top-center. You can use this control bar to navigate forward and back — BTW: your keyboard arrow keys do this too! — and to view all the photos as a slideshow: just click the play button.
This slideshow option does not replace the existing slideshows — they are different animals and we’ll be changing that button to (we hope!) make this clear. Our existing slideshows are of images we select to display in a more fun cinematic format, sometimes with soundtracks or other enhancements. So watch them both!
Notes:
We’ve enabled this option only on the smaller-size images. The full 3,000- and 4,000-pixel images are too large to play well as a slideshow. So you won’t see the control bar on those images, but you can still go forward and back using your arrow keys.
Also, the slideshow option will play the Archive images as well as the Feature images, even if you don’t have the Archive open. We thought people would like this better. If you’d like the Feature images and the Archive images to play as separate slideshow, leave us a comment here.
